1. Introduction

Welcome to TimestampCamera by Into Hash ("we," "our," or "us"). TimestampCamera is a camera application that burns a timestamp, location, and related information directly onto the photos and videos you capture. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the application.

The short version: photos and video stay on your device. Location is optional and is sent only to OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Google Maps for the stamp and mini-map; it is not sold and is not used for ads. Network time is requested from worldtimeapi.org. This binary has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics.

2. Camera and Microphone Access

The application requests access to your device's camera to take photos and record videos on the device. The microphone is used for the video soundtrack only.

• On-Device Capture: Photos, videos, and audio are captured and stamped entirely on your device. Media is not uploaded to us or to any third party.
• No Live Streaming: The camera preview is never recorded or transmitted; it exists only while you have the capture screen open.
• Save and Share: A capture is written to your gallery or sent through the system share sheet only when you choose to save or share it.
• Permission Control: You may revoke camera or microphone access at any time in your device settings. The application cannot capture without camera permission.

3. Location Data

Location is optional. If you enable a location-based stamp, the application collects precise GPS coordinates so that latitude, longitude, altitude, and a place name can be printed onto your capture.

• Foreground / When-In-Use Only: Location is collected only while the application is open and in use. We do not request or hold background location permission, and the application does not track your location when it is closed or in the background.
• Local Stamp: Coordinates are burned into the stamp locally on your device.
• Last Fix Cached On Device: Your most recent position is cached on your device so that a stamp is available immediately the next time you open the app. This cache stays on your device.
• Not Sold, Not Ads: Location is not sold and is not used for advertising.
• Optional: Location stamping can be turned off in the app's stamp settings, and you may decline or revoke the location permission entirely. The camera continues to work without it.

4. Place Names, Reverse Geocoding, and Mini-Map

When location stamping is on, the application may send your coordinates to two map services so the stamp and mini-map can be shown. Photos and videos are not included in these requests. Location sent this way is not sold and is not used for ads.

• OpenStreetMap Nominatim: Latitude and longitude are sent to nominatim.openstreetmap.org so a human-readable place name can be printed on the stamp. Only the coordinates are sent. Results are cached on your device. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
• Google Maps: The mini-map loads map tiles from Google Maps so you can see where the stamp is placed. See the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Network Time

So that the timestamp on your capture is accurate even if your device clock has drifted or been changed, the application requests the current UTC time from a public time service (worldtimeapi.org). NTP via worldtimeapi.org contains no user content — no photo, video, identifier, or location. As with any network request, the service necessarily sees the IP address it is called from.

6. Device Sensors

The application reads your device's magnetometer and motion sensors to determine compass heading, which can be included in the stamp. Sensor readings are used in the moment, on your device only, and are never transmitted or stored by us.

7. Photos, Videos, and On-Device Storage

Photos and video stay on your device. We do not upload, host, or have access to your media.

• App Storage: Captures are written to the application's private storage area on your device, where the in-app gallery reads them.
• Photo Library: When you choose to save a capture, it is written to your device's photo library. This requires photo library permission and happens only at your request.
• System Share: Sharing uses the system share sheet and happens only at your action.
• Importing: If you choose to import an existing photo, the application reads only the file you select. It does not scan, index, or upload your photo library.
• Settings: Your stamp and capture preferences are stored locally on your device.
• Deletion: Deleting a capture in the app removes it from app storage. A copy you have already exported to your photo library must be deleted there as well. Uninstalling the application removes everything it stored on the device.

8. No Accounts

TimestampCamera has no accounts and no login. There is no Google, Apple, or email sign-in, and no cloud account. You do not create an account to use the app, and we do not store account data for this application.

9. Analytics and Crash Reports

There is no analytics on this binary. This release does not collect usage analytics or crash reports.

The app contains optional usage-data and crash-reporting code that is off until configured, so events and crash reports are not sent on the current binary. If that code is later enabled, you can opt out from:

10. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. Location is not sold and is not used for ads. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Stamp and map: Optional location is sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Google Maps for the stamp and mini-map, as described in Section 4.
• Network time: A UTC time request is sent to worldtimeapi.org, as described in Section 5. No user content is included.
• Legal Compliance: If required by law or to protect our rights.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, sale, or asset transfer.

11. No Advertising

TimestampCamera contains no advertising. The application does not include an advertising SDK, does not display banner, interstitial, or rewarded ads, does not read or transmit your advertising identifier (the Google Advertising ID on Android or Apple's IDFA on iOS), and does not share data with advertising networks or data brokers.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Captures, settings, and cached data live on your device for as long as you keep them, and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the application. Because photos and videos stay on the device and are never uploaded, deleting them on your device is sufficient. There is no cloud account to delete.

13. Children's Privacy

TimestampCamera is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will take steps to delete the information immediately.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this policy periodically.
